*All persons carrying the surname Landeg today descend from either:
a)Lieutenant Colonel John Landeg of Llangyfelach [1742-1808] or
b)Rees Landeg who married Elizabeth Robert in 1793 at Llantwit-juxta-Neath.

*The earliest Landeg found in a contemporary record is a John Landeg in 1484.
